The best will be even better with Regin’s system
The Swedish company Regin, which specialises in energy efficiency in buildings, has been commissioned to optimise energy use in the Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)’s head office in Hyderabad.
“The whole facility, which consists of several buildings and covers a total area of over 1,000 square metres, was constructed in 2003 and has LEED Platina certification, so this is a real challenge for us,” says Stefan Blom, sales director at Regin AB.
Information via cloud service
The installation work is currently in progress, and includes cooling machines and ventilation, plus separate room controls to regulate the temperature, humidity and air pressure in each individual room. A cloud service then enables staff at Regin’s regional office in Singapore to support property managers, energy advisors and owners with exact status information and suggestions regarding measures that can be taken to achieve maximally efficient energy use. Other stakeholders also access the information via the cloud, for the purposes of training and energy efficiency.
Many projects in progress
“We also have a number of other projects in progress in India. In Chennai, for example, we are setting up a training centre for energy efficiency. Here people can work hands-on with controlling and regulation technology for saving energy, while still maintaining an optimal indoor climate. This is an investment in cooperation with the CII to raise competence in, and awareness of, these issues. The Swedish Embassy in New Delhi also uses our system. But we see the commission for the CII’s head office as a really important reference project for the future, not least because the facility is already certified at the highest level. The CII is also one of the most important organisations in India when it comes to investment and development in our field,” says Blom.
Regin has been a member of the India Sweden Innovations’ Accelerator (ISIA) since 2015, and presented this and several other Indian projects during the ISIA workshop in Hyderabad on November 22.
