Aili’s commitments in India continue
Aili have now branded their pump as Spowdi Pump System. It has been designed to save energy, to generate independence from external power sources and to replace dirty fossil pumps. Following are the ongoing activities with Aili in India.
Pilot study with Tata Power-DDL
Tata Power have established two microgrids in rural areas of Bihar and Aili have partnered with them to install pumps on site to improve access to irrigation as well as clean drinking water. The pump is set up on a remote river island along with a flow meter and is delivering up to 900–1,200 litres per hour with the use of excess energy from Tata’s solar microgrid. A real time tracking system for water flow is being set up at present.
Reference project with Raidco
Under the ISIA program, Aili has been introduced to Raidco in Kerala (Regional Agro-Industrial Development Co-operative of Kerala Ltd). With Raidco, Aili showcased a working pump prototype to the public along with a drip irrigation system and a water sprinkler. A formal letter of interest detailing the next steps to take has been drawn up. Aili has now signed an NDA document with Raidco and are currently evaluating a permanent reference installation site to showcase the irrigation solution. Aili will soon be concluding an MoU with Raidco and taking up a market study before selling Aili pumps through Raidco channels for irrigation purposes.
Reference project with Chemtrols
Aili have recently signed an MoU agreement with Mumbai-based Chemtrols Solar, to explore the domestic water pump market in India. Chemtrols Solar already offers in its portfolio solar lanterns, solar power packs, solar home lighting systems, solar powered water purifiers, domestic solar water heating systems, and solar streetlights. With Aili they now plan to provide a packaged solution to pump water from the sump to the overhead tanks which are 10 to 15 meters high. Both Aili and Chemtrols are planning to showcase the Spowdi Pump system at the Renewable Energy India Expo 2018 at Greater Noida to the public.
