About us
The India-Sweden Innovations’ Accelerator Programme is initiated by the Swedish Energy Agency and run together in support with the partners Business Sweden and the Confederation of Indian Industries – Green Business Centre. Together, all partners bring a strong track record of international business development.
Over the course of 18 months, participating Swedish companies make three trips to India to explore the market, meet relevant business partners and investors, and receive export coaching from the Swedish Energy Agency, Business Sweden and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The India-Sweden Innovations’ Programme is part of the intergovernmental cooperation between India and Sweden in new and renewable energy technologies.
The aim of the Programme is to mitigate climate change through a transition to clean energy in India. India and Sweden share the common objective of innovation and entrepreneurship as essential tools for boosting competitiveness and sustainable economic growth.
Sweden is a world leader in green technology and is ranked number one in the EU as well as number three in the world, according to the Global Innovation Index. India is a forerunner of entrepreneurship and is home to the third largest start-up ecosystem in the world as noticed in the Global Startup Ecosystem Report 2022.
Understanding local conditions, adapting business offers and choosing the right partners aligned with overall company strategy are very important success factors for foreign companies in India. The Swedish companies participating in the ISIA Programme are environmental technology companies with verified applications and/or solutions which can meet the needs of the Indian market, its priorities and its purchasing power.
