Sweden plays leading role in India Smart Grid Week

With the slogan ”Powered by Sweden”, Sweden is taking part as the main sponsor of India Smart Grid Week, ISGW 2018. The fourth edition of the conference and exhibition on smart energy and smart cities is organized by India Smart Grid Forum (ISGF) and scheduled 5–9 March 2018 in New Delhi, India.

Experts from India and around the world will share best practices on smart energy, smart cities, advanced solutions for grid modernization, rollout plan for smart meters, electric mobility, disruptive innovation, artificial intelligence, machine learning and robotics technology trends as well as renewable energy integration.

The Swedish Energy Agency is the main sponsor on the Swedish side, and the Swedish Smartgrid Forum is responsible for the content of the third Swedish-Indian round table discussion, Sweden–India smart grid workshop.

– The aim is to define a Swedish strategy for promoting collaborations, development and business relations with India in the field of Smart Grids, says Albin Carlén, Director Internationalisation and Smart Grids at the Swedish Smartgrid Forum.

There will also be two other bilateral workshops; the European Commissions smart grid workshop, and US–India smart grid workshop. Furthermore parallel events on such topics as distribution utility, smart city gas distribution and smart water.

The visit to ISGW also sees the start of a demonstration project with Swedish project management by Pamoja Cleantech, in collaboration with the Royal Institute of Technology and Inresol, and financial support from the Swedish Energy Agency. The project involves the construction of a micro-grid for power supply in connection with a university campus in the state of Assam. The week following the conference, Aili Innovation will also carry out field tests in collaboration with Tata Power, in the state of Bihar.
